Purchase Flow

How a customer goes from browsing to a ticket in their inbox

The Standard Flow

Browse. The Shop homepage lists the organizer's events. Customers open an event page to see date, venue, description, gallery images, and sponsors.

Pick tickets (and seats). Customers choose ticket type(s) and quantity. For seated events, a seat map lets them pick specific seats, which are held for them while they check out.

Cart. Selections (ticket type, quantity, seats, add-ons, waitlist claims) are kept in a cart that persists in the browser per event — closing the tab and coming back doesn't lose the cart.

Checkout. Customers enter contact details, choose a payment method, and optionally enter a voucher or referral code (see Vouchers & Discounts).

Payment. Supported payment methods include card payments via Adyen, PayPal, Mollie, and bank transfer — whichever methods the organizer has enabled (see Payments). Card and wallet payments redirect to a secure hosted payment page; the customer returns to TIXFIN once payment completes.

Confirmation. On success, the customer sees a confirmation page and receives an email with their receipt and tickets. Free/zero-amount orders skip the payment redirect and confirm instantly.

Tickets and receipts are always sent by email. If a customer has a TIXFIN account, purchased tickets are also available there.

Abandoned Cart Recovery

If a customer starts checkout but doesn't finish, their in-progress session can be saved and resumed later — either by returning to the same device/browser or via a recovery link, and customers can opt out of recovery tracking entirely.

Waitlists & Lotteries

For events where demand outstrips supply, organizers can enable one of two mechanisms instead of a plain "sold out" message:

Waitlist

Customers join a waitlist for a sold-out ticket type; if a spot opens up, they receive a claim link with a limited window to complete purchase

Lotteries

Customers enter a lottery for a limited allocation; winners are drawn and notified, then complete purchase and verification

Both are opt-in per project and only shown when the organizer has turned them on for an event.
