Discount codes, automatic promotions, referral codes, and live chat in the Shop
Vouchers
A voucher is a code a customer types in at checkout. When entered, the Shop validates it against the organizer's project in real time and shows the discounted total before the customer commits to paying. If the cart changes (quantity, ticket type) after a voucher is applied, it's re-validated automatically so the discount always matches the current cart.
Organizers create and manage voucher codes — including usage limits and validity windows — from the Dashboard's Payments area.
Automatic Discounts (Promotions)
Separate from vouchers, organizers can configure automatic promotional discounts that apply without a code — for example, an early-bird discount for a specific ticket type, or a bulk discount past a quantity threshold. The Shop previews these automatically as customers build their cart, so the discount is visible before checkout rather than being a surprise on the final total.
Referral Codes
For events with a referral program configured, customers can enter a referral code at checkout to attribute their purchase to the referrer. Referrers can then track conversions and payouts from their own referral dashboard.
Vouchers, automatic discounts, and referral codes can all apply to the same order — the Shop combines them and shows the final total before payment.
Support Chat
When enabled for a project, a chat widget appears on the Shop so visitors can ask questions without leaving the page:
- Conversations persist across page reloads for the same visitor
- Visitors don't need a full TIXFIN account — they're matched to their conversation by the email they provide
- Organizers view and respond to Shop chats from the Dashboard's support tools, alongside chats from other channels
This is a first line of support for pre-purchase questions ("does this ticket include parking?") separate from the TIXFIN support channels used for account-level issues.
